It's time to climb to the top of it! Its other name is Olympos. It is the highest point of the Olympos Beidaglary National Park - 2,365 meters above sea level. The history of Takhtaly Mountain is associated with a large number of myths and legends. Locals consider it the most mysterious mountain in Turkey. The ancient Greek writer Homer mentioned Mount Olympos in his famous work The Iliad. It tells about a mythical Chimera — a monster with the head of a lion, the body of a goat and the tail of a snake, which lived near Olympos. The hero of the poem Bellerophon fought with the monster and threw him to the top of the mountain. The monster did not die, and therefore continues to live inside the mountain to this day, constantly spewing flames from the ground, which are clearly visible at night. In fact, natural gas is present in the mountain, which comes to the surface of the mountain in a concentration sufficient for open gorenje. It is believed that even the name of the city of Kemer originated from the name of the monster. After climbing the mountain, we will visit Phaselis, one of the oldest cities in Turkey. It is located near the resort town of Kemer, at the very foot of Takhtaly Mountain. The centuries-old history of this city allowed him to see different empires and visit many states.
