* The Lodygina Republic is a unique place in Yekaterinburg. Starting as a neighborhood area and a community of residents who preserve the history of their neighborhood (and this is the so-called "Quarter 24", designed in 1947 by architect Alexander Vilesov), over time this place has turned into a rich art space, a courtyard museum and, what is especially interesting to us, a street art location. The Republic of Lodygina attracts street artists, for them it is an island of free expression. To this day, the courtyard is open to creative people, and there is still plenty of room for street artists. The Republic of Lodygina is an open-air art space, not far from the center, in the Vtuzgorodok area. This is not only a courtyard museum and one of the venues of the "Night of Museums" is an island of freedom, and not only creative. Local residents are fighting for the safety of their historic quarter and are trying to protect it from targeted development. In addition, the Republic's activists have organized an independent cultural space here, in which street art has come to the fore. The Republic of Lodygina is a compact and very saturated street art location. It is not surprising that this quarter attracts excursions, including as one of the stops on excursions around the city.
