Description

* A three-day trip to the Northern Lights on the Kola Peninsula with a flight from St. Petersburg
Did you know that the hunt for the northern lights can last several days? This wonder of the northern nature does not always reveal its secrets on the first night. The ScanTur360 guides are aware of this. The tour includes a search for the northern Lights with a professional photo guide at no extra cost! It is important to us that you see this phenomenal sight and take the best photos of your life.
In addition to the excitement of the chase, you will meet with the harsh northern nature. The diverse landscapes of the tundra and the fjord–scarred shores of the Barents Sea decorate the harsh life of the indigenous Sami people. And the urban landscapes of Murmansk contrast with the ancient Khibiny. All this makes you think about the most intimate things, allowing you to forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life

Murmansk – Teriberka village – ship cemetery – reindeer and husky farm – sandy beach
Type of accommodation:Hotel
09:00 – Departure to Teriberka
We will drive along the only federal highway that leads to the shores of the Arctic Ocean. The road will pass through the tundra, and the views from the window will not leave you indifferent. Along the way, we will make several stops in picturesque places to admire the Arctic tundra and the northern expanses.
Along the way, the guide will conduct a guided tour.
11:30 – Inspection of the Teriberka (Old Teriberka)
The village of Teriberka is located beyond the Arctic Circle, on the northeastern coast of the Kola Peninsula. Winter here lasts from the beginning of November to the end of April, and the local summer will seem more like spring to residents of more southern regions: the average temperature in July is about +12 °C.
A seasonal settlement of fishermen in this place existed back in the XVI century, but gradually the village began to decline. Now this place is becoming popular among tourists: in 2015, Teriberka even entered the top 20 best travel destinations according to National Geographic magazine.
We will visit:
Reindeer and Husky Farm Teriberka Farm
On the farm you can meet incredibly affectionate huskies, as well as red deer. For a fee (200 rubles), you can buy a bucket of berries and apples and feed the deer.
You can also buy tinctures from local herbs and berries, dried meat and other northern delicacies on the farm.
Abandoned school (optional)
By 2006, there were so few people left in the village that there were only 22 school-age children in all eleven grades. In the new academic year, they were transferred to a school in the nearby village of Lodeynoye, and the building was left with textbooks, laboratory equipment, furniture, a piano, wall newspapers and filmstrips.
The classrooms are dry, odorless, books and remnants of textbooks have been preserved, and furniture remains in some places: desks and chairs. The walls of the building have turned into art objects: there are many drawings, poems, stickers, quotes on them.
As the popularity of the film "Leviathan" grew and the flow of tourists increased, this school became an art object.
