* Miramare Castle always leaves an unforgettable impression: the park and the palace, history and romance, nature and architecture, the whiteness of the walls and the blue of the sea (which, by the way, are visible from all the halls of the residence, and all in one place! When Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg, brother of the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph, came to Trieste in 1852 and saw a small bay near the city, he fell in love with this place so much that he decided to build a castle here for himself and for his future wife Charlotte of Belgium. They did not live in the castle for long, but it has survived to this day, with all its beauty and romantic atmosphere. The interiors have also been preserved, and visiting the rooms and halls in Miramar we will be able to get acquainted not only with the historical events that took place here, but also with the life of an aristocratic young couple of the 19th century. In Miramar, we can enjoy a short walk through the park, where Maximilian, an amateur botanist, ordered to plant not only local Mediterranean plants, but also exotic specimens.
