The house of A.S. Ostatoshnikov
Detailed description
The Ostatoshnikov House is a historical site located in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. This building was built and redone several times from 1847 to 1905. In 1865, the house belonged to the merchant Andrey Semenovich Ostatoshnikov, and then it was rebuilt under the direction of architect I. F. Nebolsin in the eclectic style. In subsequent years, the building was also rebuilt, elements of other architectural styles were added, for example, Art Nouveau. The preserved interior of the house is of particular value for modernity: a wooden vestibule with an attic, stucco molding in the form of flowers and stems on the ceiling, a wide opening in the form of a horseshoe and much more. The building perfectly fits into the style and interior of the streets of the city, preserves the antiquity and beauty of that time.
