Chemical Laboratory of the Mykolaiv Academy

The building is located within walking distance from Nekrasovsky Garden. It was built in the 19th century and is a three-storey stone building. It has an entrance and arched windows on the ground floor. The facade and architraves are decorated with stucco. The building was originally built for a chemical laboratory and apartments for scientists to live in. It was here that such famous chemists as J. F. Fritzsche, N. N. Zinin, A.M. Butlerov, F. F. Beilstein, N. N. Beketov, P. I. Walden lived and worked. Apartment No. 2 housed the laboratory of A.A. Borisyak, who became the founder of the Paleontological Institute. Before the war, the building was transferred to the dormitory of the N. K. Krupskaya Pedagogical Institute. During the days of the blockade, it was Secondary School No. 27. In the post-war period it belonged to the militia. Later it was given to a kindergarten.
