And our first stop will be in the village of Ushakovo, where the Heiligenwalde church is located. It was built in 1344. The church acquired its modern appearance in the 17th century. Then we head to the town of Gvardeysk (Tapiau). We will have a sightseeing tour of this wonderful city, we will learn the history of this city since the time of Prussia. If desired, we will have lunch at the Grand Embassy Cafeteria And we will continue through the village of Znamensk (Velau). It belongs to the list of "lost cities". It is located on the left bank of the Pregoli River at the confluence of the Lava River. Today's Znamensk is a very quiet and cozy settlement, whose guests can enjoy not only the picturesque landscapes of the surrounding area. Not far from Znamensk, there is the village of Bolshaya Polyana. Where we will see the "Paterswalde Church" (external inspection). The first church in Paterswald. We will also visit the abandoned psychiatric clinic Allenberg in Znamensk. An abandoned hospital, striking in its size. The hospital is named Allenberg Provincial Psychiatric Hospital. It opened its doors to the first 59 mentally ill patients on September 1, 1852. Then we will arrive in the ancient village of Zheleznodorozhny (Gerdauen). Founded in the 14th century as a fortification of the Teutonic Order, Zheleznodorozhny is now a village in the south of the region, nevertheless preserving the romantic beauty of the ruins of East Prussia. Since 2019, the restoration of dilapidated buildings located in the center of the village has begun. And the village is gradually turning into a fabulous town with small "gingerbread houses". And then we go together to visit the city of Friedland (Pravdinsk). This very clean, well-maintained town is located 53 km south-east of Kaliningrad.
