* To explore ancient Yaroslavl, we will go on our fascinating walking tour! The route starts from the walls of the ancient Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery, in the complex of buildings of which the Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve is now located. You will find out which sights of world significance our city is famous for, in what century and why our city flourished and how it lives now. You will learn what role Yaroslavl and the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery (now the Zapovdenik Museum) played during the Troubles in the 17th century and why Yaroslavl was the unofficial capital of our country at that time. And here we will see several objects depicted on a 1000-ruble bill and we will be able to take a photo with them as a souvenir. We will walk along the Kotoroslnaya embankment, admire the ancient temples of the 17th century and discuss the features of the local temple architecture. We will make a stop at the Metropolitan Chambers. Here I will tell you about the story of the discovery of 81 icons in 1977, which were hidden in the attic of the building and lay there for about 50 years. I'll also tell you about what connects this ancient building with a very popular singer. Let's go to Strelka, the most beautiful place in Yaroslavl. It offers a wonderful view of the confluence of the two Volga and Kotorosili rivers, which is one of the most popular viewing platforms in the city. I will show you where the Yaroslavl Kremlin was located and tell you why it has not survived to this day. We will see the Monument of Glory, a monument dedicated to the military and labor feats of Yaroslavl during the Second World War, I will tell you how our region lived and how it distinguished itself during this difficult time for the country.
