* The "golden Age" of Russian culture took shape at an amazing time, when great architects, composers, and painters created their works, and Pushkin, Zhukovsky, Gnedich, Vyazemsky, Griboyedov, and many others shone in the literary field.
A tour of Pushkin's places in St. Petersburg is not only an introduction to the poet's personal history, but also an opportunity to understand the special atmosphere in which Pushkin and his contemporaries were immersed.
The romantic era of the early 19th century is rich in historical events, but the main thing, of course, was the victory of Russian weapons over the powerful army of Napoleon, which had previously known virtually no defeats. Some of the Russian officers, returning from defeated France, brought with them revolutionary ideas. In the salons of St. Petersburg, they began to talk seriously about urgent problems in Russian society and the need for transformation. Secret societies began to appear in which the future of Russia was discussed, these societies attracted caring young people, among whom were the newly minted graduates of the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, among whom A.S. Pushkin could not but be. The result is a reference to the south for freedom-loving poems and caustic epigrams against the tsar and his political entourage.
The poet will return to St. Petersburg only eleven years later with his beautiful wife, Natalia Goncharova. A new stage in the poet's life will begin: social evenings, attending receptions at the palace, publishing his own magazine, a conflict with Dantes and a tragic death.
Pushkin's Petersburg is not just addresses - in this combination of words, the code of the era.
