Do you want something the most?! We suggest celebrating the New Year on the shores of the deepest lake in the world! We have come up with the most winter New Year's adventure for you!
On the eve of the main holiday of the year, December 31, we will move towards Lake Baikal, along the way visiting one of the most beautiful open-air museums in Russia, Taltsy.
In the museum, which is a real Siberian village, you can slide down a slide on a cowhide, as well as swing on a real Siberian swing.
Upon arrival at the shore of Lake Baikal, in the village of Listvyanka, we will have lunch, check into a hotel, and wait for the Main Night.
We will have an active program on January 2.: we will visit the fish market and souvenir market, then go to the Baikal Museum, where we will be able to observe Baikal seals, crustaceans, and other amazing inhabitants of the lake; climb to the picturesque observation deck, and then have fun riding dog sleds through the snowy forest.
But what a winter Baikal without ice! On January 3rd, we will go hunting for him! We will go to the strait of the Small Sea, the place where the Baikal ice begins to form! We will take the first photos of the Baikal ice this season!
The road will run through authentic Buryat villages, we will stop for a small Buryat lunch, see the sacred Tajeran steppes, and after such an eventful day, we will return to Irkutsk to rest a little and return to our usual life on January 4.

A visit to the Baikal Museum tells the story of the deepest and oldest lake on the planet. The entire timeline from the beginning to the modern time. The museum also has Aquariums with Baikal fish, including the Baikal seal.

Today you will see the first ice of Lake Baikal!
While the water in Listvyanka and in the south of the lake is usually covered with ice in mid-January, the northern and central parts of the lake have been covered with ice since early December.
Therefore, we will go to a place called the Small Sea, the strait that separates the island of Olkhon from the mainland, where you will have the opportunity to see the first crystal clear ice of Lake Baikal.
Transfer to the Small Sea in 3-4 hours.
Khivus ride on the ice of Lake Baikal – 2 hours
