Apartment house of P.M. Stanovogo
Detailed description
The apartment building was built in 1909. Pavel Stanovoy is known as a hereditary honorary citizen, a deputy of the City Duma, was the owner of several apartment buildings in St. Petersburg. Stanovoy invited Dmitry Andreevich Kryzhanovsky, an architect, to build the house. At that time, the building was able to impress with its Art Nouveau look with elements of the neo-Russian style, which is extremely unusual for the architecture of the cultural capital. The house was supposed to be profitable, and it happened, but for a short time - the October Revolution turned everything not in the direction of the Police Station. The building was built with close attention to detail, carved doors, wooden owls above the front door. In the early noughties, part of the decor was lost, but the building was under restoration and now everyone can enjoy the restored owls, similar doors, a spiral staircase with carved railings, vintage windows and even look through them at the courtyard well.
