Description

Type: Single-day activity
Duration: 2 hours
* Khamovniki district is a historical, architectural, cultural reserve, but at the same time a modern dynamically developing territory. The "Sleeping bag for oligarchs" is actually the quintessence of a truly Moscow multicomponent cocktail of tastes and eras. Anyone who feels Khamovniki will come closer to understanding the essence of ageless Moscow. On the route: gingerbread towers of the Devichy Monastery, Sechenov University clinical campus, Bulgakov Museum apartment, Alley of Life, Devichye Pole, Leo Tolstoy House Museum, Yandex campaign headquarters, ancient chambers of palace weavers, St. Nicholas Church in Khamovniki. During an individual walking tour of Khamovniki, you will learn about the weavers who sewed tablecloths, hemmed clothes, linen and other woven products for the needs of the princely court. You will learn about the entrepreneurs and aristocrats who gradually began to inhabit this remarkable area, scientists, artists, writers and, of course, doctors who filled the famous clinical campus. The villages of Khamovnaya Sloboda, Savvinskaya, Novodevichya, Rostovskaya, Konyushennaya, Studnaya, Sloboda of the Chudov Monastery and others merged with each other in a bend of the Moskva River and formed the territory of the modern Khamovniki district. So Afanasy Levshin, whose Streletsky regiment was stationed at the monastery in the 17th century, gave the name to Bolshoy and Maly Levshinsky lanes. And the street that leads from the Kremlin to the Garden Ring today aspired in the 14th and 15th centuries to Ostozhye, a place of mowing and meadows, where the horses of Moscow princes slowly chewed grass from fragrant meadows, and peasants collected hay in large stacks. That's how she was named Ostozhenka, and today she's part of Moscow's most expensive neighborhood, the Golden Mile. After that, there were barracks, factories and manors built by the world's best architects ... It's no coincidence that we conduct tours of Khamovniki not only for citizens and guests of the capital, but also for people very interested — realtors and developers. And then there are the Soviet and our days. Take a walk with our guide and you will!
