day 01
The adventure begins!
Type of accommodation:Camping
• Our journey will begin in Murmansk.
• In the morning we will pick you up at the airport or at the hotel.
• Next, we have to drive about 100 km towards the village of Titovka. Along the way we admire the views of the northern wild tundra. We will stop at the Valley of Glory. This is a memorial complex on the right bank of the Zapadnaya Litsa River. During the Great Patriotic War, some of the fiercest battles for the Arctic took place here.
• Upon arrival in Titovka, we will visit a small museum dedicated to the peninsulas and wartime. Here, the guide will introduce you to the history of the peninsulas and the events that took place there during the war.
• Next, our path will go off-road. We will definitely stop at the beautiful cascading waterfalls of the Titovka River and the Yuringa River, where you can enjoy the views of the raging and roaring streams of water.
• The next stop is Drunken Creek, a traditional stop before the pass. Here the guide will tell you the history of this place and tell you about the reason for the cheerful name of the stream.
• When climbing the pass, we will find a small observation deck with a great view of the endless tundra of the Musta-Tunturi range.
• Next, we will descend from the ridge to Motovsky Bay and soon stop at an observation deck with a picturesque view of Motovsky Bay, Kutovaya Bay, Sredny Peninsula and Rybachy Peninsula.
• Another 10 km of the way will lead us to the valley, which was called the "Valley of Death" during the war.
• Here we will receive an instruction on movement in the mountains and a 1.5-hour walk to the Musta-Tunturi ridge, where the front line lay. Just imagine, the line of contact with the enemy was only 30 meters.
• We will walk through the Soviet and German positions and listen to the guide's stories about those events; we will visit the German catacomb and solve the mystery of secret German weapons. This is a real open-air museum.
• At the end, we will go out to the playground with a view of Motovsky Bay and Malaya Volokovaya Bay (Kola Fjords).
• Next, we will move to the parking lot at Cape Volokova. Here we will set up our hiking camp and spend the night in it.
day 02
Yellow Stones beach of the Sredny Peninsula and Megaliths of the Rybachy Peninsula
Type of accommodation:Camping
• After breakfast, we will start along the western part of the Sredny Peninsula.
• We will make a stop at the "English Cliff". We will lie on the edge of the abyss and look down. Enjoy the views of the coming endless ocean.
• Next, we will arrive at the "Two Brothers" rocks — an ancient temple, two stone megaliths, sacred to the Sami Sayds of Akka and Ukka, shrouded in local legends. This unique natural monument consists of two 30-meter-high stone remains. This place of power will not leave anyone indifferent.
• After the stone giants, we will take a walking tour along the stunning cliffs to a unique, fantastic place - the shore of the red stones. This beach stretches for a couple of kilometers along the coast at Cape Zemlyanoe. For millions of years, nature has been using two elements - water and wind - to create an alien landscape and bizarre figures resembling animals and fairy-tale characters.
• Next, we will arrive at a long sandy strip, which is beautifully called the Kian Littoral. Here, at low tide, the sea recedes by more than 200 meters. We will see the island of Kiy with the same name, and if the weather is good and warm, you can swim or just wander through the shallow waters heated by the sun.
• We move to Cape German. This is the extreme northern point of the European continental part of Russia. Then there's only the ocean and the North Pole.
• Next, we will head to Vayda Guba to inspect a local artifact - a fishing ship washed up by an ocean storm.
• After that, we will move to Cape Kekursky. Let's take a walk and explore the cliffs overhanging the sea. A unique place where a tectonic shift took place millions of years ago, leaving layers of the earth's crust turned inside out.
• After enjoying the views of Kekursky, we will head east along the coast of the peninsula.
• Drive through the abandoned Skorbeevsky garrison, where military life flourished during the Cold War. Now only large-scale buildings remind of the former power of the USSR.
• Next, we will move to Skorbeevskaya Bay. Here we will set up a hiking camp and spend the night in it.
