Peter and Paul Fortress. Her life and history

Description
Type: Single-day activity
Duration: 2 hours
* There are places in every city where it is impossible to get a complete impression of it without visiting them. In St. Petersburg, this is the Peter and Paul Fortress.
The Peter and Paul Fortress is often called the "heart of the city", the "historical center", the "place where everything began" – that's it.
At the beginning of the XVIII century, young Petersburg appeared and began to develop under the protection of the fortress walls. And thanks to Peter's foresight, Russia's best fortress has never taken a fight, so it has been perfectly preserved to this day.
The fortress walls still preserve the traditions of the Russian Empire, such as the noon cannon shot. In one of the bastions in the 19th century, the most terrible political prison was located. It was impossible to escape from there. It will be called the "Russian Bastille".
Also on the territory of Zayachy Island there is still an operating Mint, a life–size replica of Peter the Great's boat and, of course, one of the main symbols of the city - an Angel with a cross hovering over St. Petersburg at an altitude of 122.5 m.
And it is here, under the protection of stone walls, that the place where the Romanov emperors found peace is located – the tomb in Peter and Paul Cathedral.
If desired, you can make an excursion - 2.5 hours with a visit to the Peter and Paul Cathedral - an additional fee in addition to entrance tickets for the entire group in this case is 500₽
