* We invite you to the very center of mountainous Dagestan – the village of Khunzakh, which is located on the plateau of the same name. As part of this tour, you will visit some of the most famous sights of our republic. The Khunzakh plateau is mountainous and very picturesque - sheer cliffs, ridges, and rock peaks. It is the largest and most beautiful in Dagestan. The Tsolotlinsky canyon, which literally splits the Khunzakh plateau, is considered the main decoration of this area. Several waterfalls descend into it at once, scattering in fine splashes in the air. The waterfalls of Tobot and Itlyatlyar are on opposite sides, mirroring each other. An observation deck is equipped for their safe inspection, offering an unusually beautiful view. You can admire the sight of falling water from such a height for an infinitely long time and it's really impressive. On the Khunzakh plateau in the village of Arani, there is another landmark – the Araninsky fortress, built to strengthen Russian power in the 19th century. The fortress is one of the largest and best-preserved Russian cultural heritage sites in Dagestan. Our next stop will be in an equally beautiful place, where the Khunzakh plateau ends, dropping down with inaccessible cliffs, we will see a real natural park - Matlas. The Matlas plateau impresses with its beauty, all the surroundings are visible from its top, there is an observation deck on its territory, and on the edge of the cliff there is a memorial complex dedicated to Leo Tolstoy and Hadji Murad. The Matlas (Khan's) waterfall also attracts with its beauty, especially in winter, when it freezes completely, turning into a real glacier, striking in its grandeur. On the Matlas plateau there is another stunning gorge with the original name “Stone Bowl". It consists of three rocky halls connected to each other by narrow passages and caves - a special place.
