Monument to King Rama VI
Detailed description
The monument is located in front of Lumphini Park. The statue was built in 1941 during the reign of King Rama VIII. The monument is the first statue of King Rama VI and the first large cast statue made in Thailand. The king is depicted in a standing position, dressed in the uniform of a general of the wild tiger Corps. He holds a sword in his left hand. He holds a scepter in his right hand. The statue is mounted on a two-level square base with recesses with ends in the shape of lotus buds.
