Early in the morning we leave Gorno-Altaysk in a Nissan Tirano with a driver guide. On a good asphalt surface, along the Chuisky highway. Today we continue our journey by car, change vehicles to UAZ, and take the dirt road that leads us to Ukok. After 30 km, the Soloneshenskaya border post, where we mark the pass and continue moving. After another 40 km, turn to the Ukok plateau. Next lies the most difficult and beautiful section of the road. We stop at radon springs, a local resort of Teply Klyuch. Those who wish will be able to swim. Then we pass the pass of the same name (2906 m) and continue to the heart of the Ukok plateau. We descend into the Bertek basin. Here, at the foothills of the Sailugem range, we will visit one of the famous ancient monuments of Ukok — the deer stones (steles). We're setting up camp here. (1st overnight in a warm tent with a stove). 200 km on a high-speed car.

Today we are going to the valley of the Ak-Alakha river. We pass several small lakes where you can meet various waterfowl, and cross the Ak-Alakha bridge. Then we are about 7 kilometers away, and we are at our destination — a large group of Pazyryk burial mounds. This is where the well-known archaeological site is located, which was conducted by a group of scientists from the Novosibirsk Branch of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the early 90s of the last century. Here, in the permafrost, a well-preserved mummy of a young woman was discovered, dubbed in the media as the "Altai Princess" or "Ukok Princess". After examining the mounds and the balbals accompanying them, we return to the bridge over the Ak-Alakha and drive along it to the mouth of the Kaljin River. Along the way, we will come across lakes with cormorants, ancient burial mounds, including the oldest in Ukoka — the Afanasiev culture. In the evening, those who wish can go to the Kaljin waterfall, which is located two kilometers from the camp. Fishing is possible in the Kaljin River. (2nd overnight stay in a warm tent with a stove). 40 km by car.

After breakfast, we start the return journey. At the beginning, it will run along the Bertek basin, and then we will have a long climb to the Teply Klyuch pass. After descending from the pass, if you have time, you can swim in the pools built at the radon springs. From a Warm Key to a sailer on a car. Placement. Supper.

We leave approximately at 9-10 a.m. Stops in picturesque places are planned along the way. Arrival in the lower Katun region. Hotel accommodation (comfortable room). 420 km.
