Waterfall
Detailed description
Grohotun is one of the waterfalls of the Urals of artificial origin, located in the Sverdlovsk region. It is so named for the noise of falling water. In the 18th century, a small village appeared on the site of the pond, formed in 1740 after the construction of a saw mill. It got its name from the road running here from the city of Kungur to the Utkinskaya state pier for the rafting of products from the Chusovskaya and Utkin factories. After another setback, the Kungurians made a solid embankment, and a channel for a spillway was cut over a hill near the left bank of the pond (above). Now the water falls from the stone stairs and flies down the mountain slopes.
