* Livadia is a royal estate. At the beginning of the 20th century, it took builders only 17 months to build a magnificent palace for the Romanov family. The palace is a unique pearl of the Southern coast of Crimea. For more than 50 years, the Livadia estate served as the summer residence of three families of Russian tsars: Alexander II, Alexander III and Nicholas II.
Created by the talent of architect Krasnov in the first decade of the last century, the palace still attracts travelers from all over the world. In February 1945, the Yalta Conference was held here, during which the leaders of the three allied powers met: the USSR (Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin), Great Britain (Winston Churchill) and the United States (Theodore Roosevelt), and agreed here on the structure of post-war Europe.
Visit to the Holy Cross Palace Church. The church was created in the Byzantine style. The temple is small, because it was designed only for the imperial family and the inner circle. A memorial service for the late Tsar Alexander III was held here, Nicholas II took the oath of allegiance to the Russian throne, and Nicholas's fiancee, Princess Alice of Hesse, converted to Orthodoxy.
The Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral are considered symbols of Paris, Big Ben is recognizable from everywhere in London, and the Kremlin is of course the Kremlin, which is how the city of Alupka opens to visitors with the park and the palace of Count Vorontsov, or, as it is simply called, the Vorontsov Palace in Alupka. And it is on a visit to the count that we will go.
In 1824, Count Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov (1782-1856), who took office as Governor-General of the Novorossiysk Territory, began to buy land in the vicinity of Alupka. It was not by chance that he chose this small village under the battlements of Ai-Petri for his summer residence.
Combining two completely different styles — Moorish and English Gothic, the palace impresses the modern viewer with its striking originality of forms.
Next, we will go to the castle, floating between the sky and the sea.
Perched on the edge of a 40-meter cliff is a miniature Swallow's Nest building.
