We will be able to see the Idol rocks, Fortress, Mirrors, Knight, Camel, Hillfort and many others on our January trip dedicated to the sixth anniversary of the Siberian Nomads tour club to the Olkhinsky plateau. The Olkhinsky plateau is more than 2.5 thousand square kilometers of mountainous taiga landscapes with headwaters and several dozen rocky outcrops of various heights. This is the foothills of the Eastern Sayan Mountains with an average altitude of 800-900 meters above sea level and a maximum altitude of 1,222.4 meters above sea level. There have been rock remains in this part of Siberia for 500 million years. It was in those distant times that the ancient rocks, under the influence of high temperatures and pressure at depth, were transformed and crumpled into folds, and then lifted above the level of the world ocean and polished by the winds. Earthquakes were not far behind in helping to form rocks.
