The bear Mountain, or Ayu-Dagh, is considered, along with the Swallow's Nest, another business card of the Crimea. This amazingly beautiful mountain resembles a huge bear leaning towards the sea and drinking water. Its original outline is perfectly visible from all areas of the Southern Coast and is an excellent landmark for sailors.
The tour is for those who are in love with the Crimean nature, who prefer active recreation to mindless lying on the beach - hiking in the picturesque Crimean mountains. Climbing to the top of Ayu-Dagh along a path among a dense beech forest will give you an unusually powerful charge of cheerfulness and wonderful mood - it's not for nothing that Bear Mountain is considered a Place of Strength. The ascent begins from the northern slope of the mountain from the village of Lavrovoe. The apotheosis of the landscape paintings opening before you will be a stunning panorama of the Crimean coast - from Gurzuf to the Sudak Mountains - the beauty is extraordinary, it will take your breath away! You will relax in the "energy" clearings: these magical glades magically quickly restore the strength of travelers, calm their thoughts and raise the morale of tourists - go ahead, for new impressions.
Ayu-Dag is a botanical reserve and at the same time a historical and archaeological monument of the Crimea. 580 plant species have been identified here, of which about 60 are listed in the Red Book.
No less interesting are the historical and archaeological sites that you will see on Ayu-Dagh. Descendants of the Tauro-Scythians, Greeks, Goto-Alans, and icon-worshipping Byzantines lived here. Various settlements, fortresses, Christian churches, and monasteries were built in various places of Ayu-Dagh. The whole mountain is surrounded by three protective fortress walls.
