* Camogli is an ancient village of sailors and fishermen, located on the Eastern coast of Liguria. The charming medieval center of this village is built up with tall, narrow houses. When merchant ships were built in this settlement under European treaties in the 18th and 19th centuries, these ships even took part in the battle with Napoleon.
On a small island, Dragon Castle rises above the sea, a medieval fortress that has undergone many changes over its lifetime. The Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, built in the 12th century, is located next to the castle.
The history of Camolla bears witness to a great period of life. Now it is a quiet tourist seaside village located on the shores of Golfo di Paradiso. In mid—May, the famous Sagra del Pesce fish festival takes place here, where freshly caught fish are fried in large frying pans.
