Monchegorsk and the Lapland Nature Reserve
From 6 830₽ per person
Description
Type: Single-day activity
Duration: 8 hours
* You will find out how the place went from the ancient times of the Lapps to the Soviet pioneers, expeditions to the Monchetundra and the creation of a metallurgical plant. And if you wish, go to one of the largest nature reserves in Europe — Lapland.
Let's find out how the name of the city is literally translated from Sami. We will meet a massive bronze moose on a granite pedestal, which is the symbol of Monchegorsk. And at the obelisk dedicated to the pioneers of the Monchetundra, let's talk about the people who predetermined the appearance of the city.
We will be able to visit the spectacular observation deck at the top of Poazuiwench Mountain, from where the beauty of Monchegorsk opens (according to weather conditions).
Supplement to the program:
- As an extended version, we will suggest visiting the wonderful Lapland Nature Reserve on the shores of Lake Chuna. This is one of the largest, protected, biosphere reserves, where you will appreciate the fabulous landscapes of mountain ranges and pristine forests. This tour will be interesting, including for children, as an educational route has been specially developed for them.
- In addition, if you wish, you will visit the Museum of Colored Stones, where more than 2,000 samples from different regions of the planet represent all classes of minerals. The exhibition features unique mountain minerals, precious and semi-precious stones.
