* The name of the area is associated with the Church of the Savior on Sennaya, which has been located here since the middle of the 18th century. This cathedral decorated the space of Sennaya Square for three centuries, but during the Soviet years it was blown up, like many religious buildings in the country.
The area itself, directly bordering the famous square, was a haven for a very diverse audience. In the second half of the 19th century, the inhabitants of these quarters, stretching along the Catherine Canal (now Griboyedov Canal), served as images for many characters of F.M. Dostoevsky, who at various times lived near Sennaya Square.
A detailed revision of not only the alleys of the Spasskaya part, but also the souls of those who inhabited them, glorified the character of these places far beyond the borders of St. Petersburg.
During the tour, we will immerse ourselves in the dark romance of the chambered shores of the Spasskaya part and talk about the lives of ordinary Petersburgers.
