The Luginins ' Palace
Detailed description
The Luginin Palace is a three-storey Baroque house built in the second half of the eighteenth century. Now Tula State Pedagogical University is located there.
The Luginins' Palace impresses with its magnificent physiognomy. You can already see its greatness from the main entrance. The gates are made with high arches with a triumphal shape. They are supported by massive pillars made of sturdy cast-iron plate. A pair of alabaster sphinxes are mounted on motionless pillars. In the recess of the gate there are two copper medallions with a monogram and the year of construction of the palace.
Inside the building there are decorated ceiling lights, columns, tiled stoves and doors of difficult handwork. The facade of the house is richly decorated with a map plane under the windows, patterned mats, brackets.
