Nikitskaya Tower
Detailed description
There is a rounded tower on the territory of the Tula Kremlin at the southern gate. The building dates back to the beginning of the XVI century. The church of the Great Martyr Nikita was built near the tower, so it became known as Nikitskaya. A stone vault rises above the lower tier. In the 17th century, the tower was equipped with a room for storing gunpowder and cannon shells.
