Temple of the Twelve Apostles in Khovrin
Detailed description
The temple was built in the XX century. The building consists of two buildings standing side by side, one is made of Siberian larch, the second is made of stone, which is whitewashed. The buildings have pitched roofs made of corrugated board topped with domes. The temple is unique in that it has a lot of light and a huge space inside, which is rare for a wooden building. In addition, the iconostasis was made by the masters of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra from a three-hundred-year-old oak tree that fell during a thunderstorm from the Donskoy Monastery necropolis. Nearby you can also see the bell tower of the Kazan Golovinsky Monastery and the church of the Icon of the Mother of God.
