Church of the Introduction to the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos
Detailed description
The church has a unique history and has become an important part of the Orthodox community in the area. The idea of creation was first proposed by members of the Orthodox community of border guards, who saw the need for a place of worship in the area. In early April 2003, the site for the future church was consecrated, and a cross was erected, symbolizing the beginning of construction. Later, in July of the same year, the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated at this place. The border guards themselves actively participated in the construction of the church, who ordered a log house for the foundation of the building from the Murmashinsky colony. By the summer of 2004, the building was ready for the roof, and a year later a six-pointed cross was raised to the temple and consecrated by Murmansk Archpriest Andrei Amelin. The grand opening of the Church of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos was timed to coincide with the feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, a significant date in the Orthodox calendar. Since its opening, the church has become an important part of the local community, with regular services and events for parishioners.
