Detailed description

A four-storey stone building erected in the Krasnoselsky district of Moscow, according to the plan of a famous Russian and Soviet architect. The house was intended for wealthy tenants, so its appearance was different from other houses of that time. It is one of the few preserved historical buildings on Nizhnyaya Krasnoselskaya Street. In appearance, the building was designed in the neoclassical style, and individual facade elements were executed in an unusual Romano-Gothic style for the capital. The entrance is decorated with a heraldic composition with lions and a helmet, showing the noble dignity of the owner. For a long time, nothing in the building has changed, neither the architectural appearance of the facades, nor the floor plan. There was a light lantern above the main staircase, but the decorative decorations of the interiors were practically lost. We were lucky enough to leave only the decorative elements of the ceiling and the lobby, as well as a fragment of the wooden vestibule of the main entrance and tiles of the stairwells. The building is currently under state protection and is undergoing reconstruction, and a hotel is likely to open in the building.
