Chambers of Simon Ushakov
Detailed description
The chambers building has the status of a monument and is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. Date of construction -1670. In the 17th century, the chambers were owned by merchant Ivan Chulkov. Since 1673, the icon painting workshop of Simon (Pimen) Fyodorovich Ushakov has been located in the house. A red stone two-storey house on a high basement, with an attached one-storey wing connected to the house by a powerful gate. The facades are highlighted with hewn bricks, the windows are highlighted with white architraves, as are the corners of the house. The building has been preserved almost in its original form in the very center of the city.
