Apartment house of T.P. Pavlova - Apartment house of L.Z. Raibstein
Detailed description
The history of the construction and expansion of the house is quite interesting. In 1875, the Yegoryevsky philistine N. G. Pavlov bought the plot. Initially, he built a one-story wooden house with 4 rooms, a kitchen and a barn. In 1887, the house became the property of his wife, T. P. Pavlova. Pavlova commissioned the construction of a new stone house with a glacier and a tavern in the courtyard, the owners decided to occupy as many as 7 rooms. Subsequently, in 1911, the wealthy merchant L. Z. Reibstein, the owner of a bookbinding workshop and a railway ticket factory, acquired this site. For the construction, he hired the famous architect Natkin Lev Yakovlevich, the head of the construction bureau. Lev Nikolaevich was able to rebuild a masterpiece that combined neoclassicism with elements of Art Nouveau, which perfectly combined with the architecture of the cultural capital. Fans of historical buildings will be pleased with the facade of the building, decorated with small balconies, windows with elegant lattices, remnants of stained glass, elaborate bas-reliefs and antique vases. And if you pay attention to the tower in the center of the facade, you will notice a round window where the clock used to be.
