Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul
Detailed description
The chapel was built in 1910 on the territory of Peter the Great's Admiralty in Kronstadt. The construction was initiated and funded by donations from craftsmen and employees of the Admiralty. The chapel was built in honor of the 200th anniversary of Peter the Great's victory over Saint Sampsonius the Pilgrim near Poltava.
It was consecrated in the name of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in memory of Peter the Great. The chapel was built of brick and granite. Next to the chapel stands a monument to Peter the Great on a high granite pillar.
The chapel and the monument were destroyed during the Soviet era. It was renovated in 2018.
