Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Krasnosamarsky
Detailed description
In 1854, with donations from parishioners, the first wooden church was erected in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. In 1908, construction began on a new stone church next to the old church, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov. This church was one of the largest in Samara province. During the period of the Soviet-era church persecution, worship stopped, but it resumed in 1996. On the eve of Easter Sunday, April 21, 2006, crosses were raised on the renovated domes, and later a set of 13 bells was installed.
