Merchant Tupikov 's House
Detailed description
The house of merchant Tupikov was built in 1890. Today it is known as the "Actor's House". Initially, the construction was initiated by the mayor of Yekaterinburg Ilya Simanov, but later the gold miner Stepan Tupikov bought the house. The building was designed by architect Julius Dutel. It is a one-storey building with a small terrace. There was a landscaped garden and a separate entrance in the backyard. Legend has it that Dutel encrypted the name of the owner in the plaster ceiling of the Great Hall. Later, a drawing of a bird with two fish was discovered on the molded rosette, which turned out to be a fish bird known as a "puffin". Today, New Year's trees are held here.
