Church-Chapel of Elijah the Prophet

Near the Otradnoye metro station is the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is complemented by a separate chapel of Elijah the Prophet. It was built in 1997. 8 years later, the chapel church was transformed into a small church with the right to celebrate the Divine Liturgy with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy of Moscow and All Russia. Behind the icons of St. Seraphim of Sarov and the Martyr Natalia in the central part of the temple, you can see a two-story iconostasis decorated with crimson velvet, symbolizing the passion of Christ and His sacrifice. The altar and the iconostasis are located in an area separated from the main part of the temple. There you can also purchase audio CDs and books on Orthodox subjects, order prayer services and memorial notes for health and rest, get advice about the life of the parish and the services held in the church shop.
