Tarasov 's Estate
Detailed description
The Tarasov Estate is a historical complex of buildings that have been an integral part of the architectural ensemble of the city for more than a century. The estate was built in the middle of the 19th century during the period of the dominance of classicism architecture with the participation of architect Mikhail Pavlovich Malakhov. The Tarasov family, being merchants, acquired the old stone house from the heirs of Grigory Fedotovich Zotov. Then the family expanded the estate, building additional buildings: the main two-story house, a one-story wing and a stone fence with a gate. In Soviet times, the Tarasov house became the Teacher's House, and the estate underwent various transformations. In 1997, the building complex was reconstructed and turned into the residence of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region.
