Detailed description
The monument is located on Ratchadamnoen Nai Road, northeast of Sanam Luang. The statue was built in 1917 during the reign of King Rama VI. Queen Mother Sri Bajrindra, the wife of King Rama V, ordered the monument to be built so that it would become a source of drinking water for the Thai people. The statue of the Earth Mother Goddess was made using metal casting and gilded with gold. The tip of the hair is directed forward and is provided with a water pipe. The open arched roof is located on an elevated base and has two levels. In front of the statue is an altar with a jug for collecting water.
