The mansion of K.K. Nellis

Private developer and homeowner Karl Karlovich Nellis ordered the construction of this building. At that time, Nellis was chairman of the Board of the joint-stock company of machine-building plants "G.A. Lessner". The trend of retrospectivism prevailed in urban planning of that time. Its representatives, although they turned to classical forms of architecture, nevertheless modernized buildings in accordance with the latest trends. This building struck with the integrity of the composition and the harmony of the exterior and interior design. However, soon after it was built, it was significantly redone.
