Petrovsko-Razumovskoye railway station
Detailed description
The brick building, built in 1896, is a pseudo-Russian style, with a reference to the "truly Russian" architecture of the mid-17th century, imposed by the authorities in the 1880s. The two pediments decorating the sides of the station are decorated with the same motifs as the upper part of the 17th-century patterned architrave. The cornice also uses a series of square niches called "nooks", which are based on pre-Petrine patterns. The building is one-story and symmetrical, with two wide windows with three windows on each side. The sides are completed by a high "teremnaya" roof, referring to the same architectural tradition as the chambers of the 17th century. The main entrance to the station building overlooks the fields of the Timiryazevskaya school, located on the other side of the railway. The entrance resembles the portal of a church or a 17th-century room: one large arch with a "dam" in the middle, two round pillars at the edges and a broken triangular roof with a "house" above it. However, the narrow window at the end of the portal is closer to classicism, with a locking stone at the top instead of a cocoanut.
