Monument

The statue of the athlete is located in the courtyard of an apartment building on Dmitrov highway. It was originally installed in 1935 and decorated the facade of the Okhotny Ryad metro station in Moscow. In 1958, the sculpture was moved to this courtyard and installed on an air duct in the center of the courtyard. There are urban legends that there is a Soviet air raid shelter under the statue.
