State Bank Building
Detailed description
The building was built in 1913-1914 by architect M.M. Peretyatkovich to house the office of the Central Bank of the Russian Empire. The State Bank building faced the New Market Square and faced the altar of the Alexander Cathedral. In the 1920s, the south-eastern wing was completed according to Peretyatkovich's project, where the apartments of the employees were located. The office building became the only surviving building of the square after the Great Patriotic War. During the restoration, the facades of some buildings were built in a similar style.
