Assumption Cathedral
Detailed description
The Assumption Cathedral was built in 1898-1902. The architecture of the temple adheres to the Russian style. Until 1917, the cathedral was part of the Assumption Convent. The original design of the church had a slightly different decorative solution, which was abandoned during the construction process. The temple was closed and abolished when the Bolsheviks came to power. In the 1930s, attempts were made to blow up the temple, but the attempts were unsuccessful. Then it was decided to demolish the domes of the temple. The building was renovated in the 1980s.
