Detailed description
The Moscow Central Telephone Exchange of the Swedish-Danish-Russian Telephone Joint-Stock Company was built in the early 20th century and at one time was the tallest building in the city. The architect in the construction was Adolf Ernestovich Erichson. The tower had a square shape and was made in the Neo-Gothic style. It was built in the depths of the site. Over time, the station could no longer cope with the large influx of subscribers, and it was decided to build another building. It had a reinforced concrete frame and reached a height of seventy-six meters. It was this station that became the most technically equipped in the world.
