The main house of the Saltykov estate - A.D. Chertkov

The main house of the Saltykov estate, A.D. Chertkov, is located near Lubyanka Square. The history of the estate began in the 17th century. The house acquired its modern appearance after a major renovation designed by architect Semyon Karin in 1787. The building with side wings was decorated in Rococo style. The main entrance was decorated with a portico, and a balcony with a balustrade was placed above it. Moldings were placed on the facade, pilasters and atlantes were installed. The contour of the roof was also framed with a balustrade.
