Apartment house of K.V. Isaev
Detailed description
At the beginning of the 19th century, the red line of Pyatnitskaya Street was occupied by merchant chambers. Later, the building was completed and rebuilt. As a result, architect Lev Kekeshev got a difficult building site. He found an original way to fit the four-storey apartment building of the merchant K.V. Isaev into the ensemble. The Art Nouveau house faces Pyatnitskaya Street with two wings. The architectural value of the building is given by the characteristic details of Art Nouveau – the undulating attic, the framing of the windows, and the large window in the center of the facade. The building served the new owners until the revolution, and was subsequently nationalized. It is now occupied by the police department.
