Paramonov warehouses
Detailed description
The warehouses got their name from the merchant E. Paramonov, who was an iconic figure in the city. He bought grain, ground it in his mill and sold it. The quality of Paramonov's flour was high, and it won a gold medal at an agricultural exhibition in Paris. The merchant owned only two warehouse buildings, but the name stuck anyway. Among the workers who worked in the warehouses was the famous writer Maxim Gorky, who lived in Rostov-on-Don under his real name Alexey Peshkov. He later recalled his hard labor in his stories. During the Great Patriotic War, several warehouses collapsed, but the most important thing is that the cooling system was damaged during the bombing. Despite this, the warehouses were used for their intended purpose until the 80s, they stored sand, cement and other building materials. Subsequently, as a result of the fire, the building fell into disrepair. Currently, the water has filled the room, and a swimming pool has formed in this place.
