Greenhouse of the Kamennoostrovsky Palace
Detailed description
A large stone greenhouse was built with a fence and a gate. Its construction took place in the period 1810-1811. The architect of this greenhouse was L. Ruska together with G.P. Pilnikov. The courtyard of the greenhouse is fenced with a blank wall, and its facade faces the central entrance of the palace. The arch of the gate is decorated with a rusticated archivolt, the pylons are also highlighted by rusticated Doric columns from the Malaya Nevka embankment and pilasters from the courtyard. The eastern wing is also well preserved here, but its facades were already changed around the 19th century. In 1930, a four-story apartment building was erected on the site of the central part of the greenhouse.
