Detailed description
The palace is a landmark of the city of Moscow. The architect of the project was B.F. Rastelli. The interior is Japanese and Chinese style. The reconstruction was carried out by architect P.P. Skomoroshenko, in 1872. In 1739, Elizabeth Petrovna rebuilt the palace, as the former building collapsed due to a fire. After a while, a park was laid out on the territory, as well as the Church of the Resurrection of Christ was added. After Catherine's death, the palace was in an abandoned state. In the 20s, the building was closed and given over to an apartment building. Currently, the palace houses the State Scientific Research Institute of Restoration.
