The Shikhobalov Mansion

The mansion of the Shikhobalov family is part of the merchant's estate in the city of Samara, built in the modernist style. The red brick building has 2 floors and a basement. The walls are painted white. The center of the composition is a tall lantern with a small ledge, inside of which there is an arch for passage. The entrance arch is decorated with Atlantean figures with powerful bodies. Above the arch is a winged wheel, representing the merchant class to which the house belonged. The balconies are decorated with stylized floral decorations with cartouches and central roller shutters. A lion mask with an open mouth is depicted on the pier between the windows. The upper part of the litholith has a parapet wall with vases on the sides. High, wide window openings on the ground floor belong to non-residential premises, shops and structures. The balcony on the courtyard facade is enclosed by a wrought-iron lattice with patterns of split ears.
