The building of the National School named after N.I. Tokarev
Detailed description
In 1896, a national school in the Russian style was built in Rostov-on-Don, the author of which was architect N.M. Sokolov. Before the school opened, a dedication was held, after which the girls were given access to study in one classroom with three departments for 300 people. The construction was funded by local philanthropist N.I. Tokarev, a wealthy merchant of the first guild, who produces and sells alcoholic beverages. For his generosity, the institution was named after him. Currently, the building has been preserved, although its facade has been lost among the many outbuildings and billboards. However, the main premises of the former school are now used by RosEvroBank.
